Cleveland Heights-University Heights
"Opening Doors, Opening Minds"

FRIENDS of the Heights Libraries on November 1 will be accepting Library Education Scholarship applications from residents of Cleveland Heights and University Heights, as well as non-resident employees of the Heights Libraries, for the Library Education Scholarship.

This scholarship is designed to encourage careers in librarianship by providing financial assistance to pursue a graduate degree in library science.

Any person living in Cleveland Heights or University Heights for at least one year prior to application, or any non-resident employees of the Heights Libraries for at least one year prior to application, who wishes to further his/her education in the field of library science from an ALA-accredited library school.

Scholarship applications are accepted twice a year. In 2013, applications for the 2014 spring semester must be received between November 1 and December 1, 2013.  A committee (representatives from the FRIENDS, staff of the Heights Public Library, and a faculty member of the Kent State University School of Library & Information Science) will evaluate.  Scholarship applications for the 2014 fall semester will be accepted in 2014.
