
FRIENDS of the Heights Library
now accepting library education scholarship applications from residents of Cleveland Heights and University Heights,as well as non-resident employees of libraries in Cleveland Heights and University Heights, for the Library Education Scholarship.
This scholarship is designed to encourage careers in librarianship by providing financial assistance to pursue a graduate degree in library science.
Any person living in Cleveland Heights or University Heights for at least one year prior to application, or any employee of a library in Cleveland Heights or University Heights for at least one year prior to application, who wishes to further his/her education in the field of library science from an ALA-accredited library school.
Scholarships are available once a year. In 2011, all applications must be received by December 1, for the following semester. A committee (representatives from the FRIENDS, staff of the Heights Public Library, and a faculty member of the Kent State University School of Library & Information Science) will evaluate.
