FRIENDS of the Heights Library is now accepting library education scholarship applications from residents of Cleveland Heights and University Heights,as well as non-resident employees of libraries in Cleveland Heights and University Heights, for the Library Education Scholarship.

 

This scholarship is designed to encourage careers in librarianship by providing financial assistance to pursue a graduate degree in library science.

 

Any person living in Cleveland Heights or University Heights for at least one year prior to application, or any employee of a library in Cleveland Heights or University Heights for at least one year prior to application, who wishes to further his/her education in the field of library science from an ALA-accredited library school.

 

Scholarships applications are accepted once a year for the following year. In 2012, all applications for 2013 (spring and fall semesters) must be received between November 1 and December 1 2012.  A committee (representatives from the FRIENDS, staff of the Heights Public Library, and a faculty member of the Kent State University School of Library & Information Science) will evaluate.
