APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED THREE TIMES A YEAR FOR
FALL, SPRING & SUMMER SEMESTER SCHOLARSHIPS
FRIENDS of the Heights Libraries will be accepting Library Education Scholarship applications from residents of Cleveland Heights and University Heights, as well as non-resident employees of the Heights Libraries, for the Library Education Scholarship three times a year for the Fall, Spring and Summer Semesters of Library Schools.
This $750 scholarship is designed to encourage careers in librarianship by providing financial assistance to pursue a graduate degree in library science.
Any person living in Cleveland Heights or University Heights for at least one year prior to application, or any non-resident employees of the Heights Libraries for at least one year prior to application, who wishes to further his/her education in the field of library science from an ALA-accredited library school.
Scholarship applications are accepted three times a year, applications for the Fall Semester must be received between June 1 and July 1. Scholarship applications for the Spring Semester must be received between November 1 and December 1. Scholarship applications for the Summer Semester must be received between March 1 and April 1. A committee (representatives from the FRIENDS, staff of the Heights Public Library, and a faculty member of the Kent State University School of Library & Information Science) will evaluate the applications to award the scholarships.
